I like the insight that he was arguing that all unhappiness does not hinge on lost love. <br /><br />I'm also curious, do you think it is significant whether the sonnet was written with the speaker having his beloved in a prominent place in his mind or whether he stumbled across the thought of her? Does one suggest more his state of mind? Or is it simply an interesting way people read that section in different tones?
